Job overview

We are currently recruiting for a Staff Nurse in the Neurology Infusion Unit; a newly built department where patients with Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis and other neurological conditions will be receiving their intravenous therapies on a regular basis.

The neurology infusion service runs a daytime service from Monday to Friday with 9-5 shifts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 8-4 shifts on Tuesdays and Fridays.

You will have the opportunity to work with existing and emerging therapies used in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis, headache, Parkinson’s disease and other conditions.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will join a busy neurology infusion team looking after patients with Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis, complex headaches and other conditions.

Some of their responsibilities would include:

• Delivering a high standard of evidence-based care to patients
• Ensuring good standards of patient care are maintained at all times
• Adhering to NMC Code of Professional conduct at all times
• Involving and supporting patients, relatives, carers and friends in the care process
• Delivering disease limiting or modifying therapy to patients and providing the highest standard of care to these patients throughout their pathway
• Promoting well-being and involving patients and relatives in health education
• Ensuring clear and accurate written and verbal information is given at all times
