Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant: Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across your specialist subject
- Lead small group sessions and 1-1 interventions to accelerate student progress
- Help students overcome barriers to learning and build confidence in their abilities
- Help prepare engaging lesson resources and provide academic support during lessons
- Act as a positive role model, inspiring pupils to reach their full potential both academically and personally
Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification
To succeed in this Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant Role, you must have:
- Education to degree level with a 2:1 or higher degree from a Russell group university in English, STEM, psychology, Humanities or related subject
- Holds a strong academic background throughout GCSE’s and A-Levels
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to engage and motivate young people
- A genuine passion for education and a desire to progress into teaching or related careers
- Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
