Finance Officer Role in a Thriving Primary School
A thriving Primary School in Enfield is seeking to appoint an organised and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join its dedicated support team. About the Role
The successful candidate will support the effective financial management of the school, ensuring that all financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with school policies and statutory requirements.
Working closely with the School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team, you will assist with budgeting, purchase orders, invoicing, reconciliations, payroll administration, and financial reporting, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the school's finance function.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Process purchase orders, invoices, and supplier payments
Support budget monitoring and financial reporting
Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems
Assist with payroll administration and staffing documentation
Reconcile bank accounts and financial transactions
Support procurement processes and supplier management
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and school procedures
Provide administrative support to the School Business Manager and leadership team

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or school finance role
Excellent numeracy and attention to detail
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and financial systems
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work accurately, confidentially, and to deadlines
Desirable
Experience working within a school or education setting
Knowledge of school finance systems such as FMS or PS Financials
Understanding of financial regulations and procurement procedures
AAT qualification or equivalent finance qualification
