The Chancery Rosewood, a Rosewood Hotel Group property, is housed in the iconic former U.S. Embassy on Grosvenor Square, reimagined by British architect Sir David Chipperfield. It includes 144 spacious suites designed by Joseph Dirand, alongside a variety of dining and entertainment spaces: providing a stage for progressive ideas, voices and expression.

As Cigar Sommelier, you will be the curator of our distinguished cigar lounge experience. You will guide guests through our exclusive humidor selection, offering expert recommendations and bespoke pairings with premium spirits, wines, and cocktails. Your deep knowledge of tobacco origins, blends, and storage will ensure every cigar is presented in optimal condition, creating memorable moments for our discerning clientele.

Key responsibilities

• Extend a warm, genuine welcome to every guest and build meaningful connections.
• Collaborate seamlessly with the service and beverage teams to deliver a coordinated, elevated guest experience.
• Curate, maintain, and enhance the humidor collection, ensuring optimal storage, humidity, and temperature control.
• Offer personalised service and expert advice to guests on cigar selection, cutting, lighting, and pairing.
• Conduct cigar tastings, masterclasses, and private events for guests.
• Collaborate with the beverage team to develop cigar and spirit pairing menus.
• Manage stock, supplier relationships, and inventory levels for the humidor.
• Uphold the highest standards of service, reflecting the hotel’s luxury ethos.

About You

• A natural people person, confident in engaging a diverse, international clientele.
• Proven experience as a Cigar Sommelier, with a refined palate and deep expertise in premium cigars.
• Deep knowledge of global cigar brands, tobacco regions, and production techniques.
• Passionate about delivering bespoke, memorable experiences with warmth and professionalism.
• Strong understanding of spirits, wines, and cocktail pairings to complement cigars.
