Role Information
The school is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join its finance department from January. This is a key role responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the school while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal procedures.
Responsibilities include processing purchase orders and invoices, monitoring budgets, reconciling accounts, supporting payroll processes, and assisting with monthly and annual financial reporting. The Finance Officer will work closely with the School Business Manager and senior leaders to ensure accurate financial records and effective budget control.
You will also liaise with suppliers, manage expense claims, and support audits. The role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, manage deadlines, and contribute to continuous improvement within the finance function.
Requirements
• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role, ideally within education or the public sector
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Confident user of financial software and Microsoft Excel
• Understanding of financial procedures and compliance
• Professional, discreet, and reliable
