Senior / Knitwear Designer

Who we want:
We are looking for an organised, passionate, team-playing Senior / Knitwear designer experienced in working autonomously and taking ownership of independent projects to join our evolving team.
This is a London hybrid working role with travelling to Yeadon, Leeds (Near Leeds Bradford Airport)
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management and lead designers to develop innovative, market-relevant collections across brands under the Brodie umbrella.
- Bring experience at the contemporary or luxury level — a crucial requirement for this role.
- Take ownership of capsule collections and projects from concept and inspiration through to production and SMS.
- Create and manage detailed design packs for factory use.
- Partner with factories and the production team to ensure smooth, timely garment execution.
- Work closely with design and sales teams to meet all critical path deadlines.
- Researching the latest trends in knitwear from various sources helping to identify key shapes, techniques and colour palettes
- Creating mood, trend & colour boards
- Interpreting your research into suitable product designs for a number of brands under the Brodie umbrella using Adobe Illustrator
- Creating discrepancy and technical design specs to send to our overseas factories
- Supporting our Designer Assistants with office admin
- Being present in meetings with customers and our sales agents around the world
- Liaising with our factories on a daily basis
- Adhering to the critical path and helping the team achieve deadlines in order to have the products ready for the optimum selling period
Profile:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in women’s knitwear design.
- Proven track record designing for contemporary or luxury fashion brands.
- Strong CAD
- Advanced Illustrator and Photoshop skills
- Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent.
- Strong technical knowledge of knitwear garment construction and fitting.
- Experience managing production with Far East factories.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and thinks outside the box.
- Demonstrates accountability and independence while driving results.
- Motivated to contribute to the growth of a dynamic, scaling brand.
- Familiarity with AI tools, e.g., MidJourney, is a plus.
