Warehouse Operative / Driver
A well-established and growing building materials supplier based in Barking is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative / Driver to join its expanding team.
This is a predominantly warehouse-based role, with the successful candidate also supporting deliveries to customer sites across London as required during busy periods. The position would suit someone who is hands-on, flexible, and comfortable working in both warehouse and driving environments.
Essential Requirements
● Full UK Driving Licence
● Previous warehouse experience
● Forklift operating experience
Salary & Benefits
● Competitive salary of approximately £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
● 25 days annual leave

● Warehouse hours:
● Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm or 7:00am - 5:00pm
● Driver hours (when undertaking deliveries):
● Monday to Friday, 5:30am - 2:30pm
● Due to the varied nature of the role, candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Barking and be flexible with working hours.
Key Responsibilities
● Load company vehicles safely and efficiently to prevent stock damage and optimise delivery routes.
● Pick, check, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
● Support warehouse production and operational activities as directed by management.
● Help maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
● Follow all health and safety regulations and site procedures.
● Ensure correct manual handling practices are followed at all times.
● Plan and prioritise workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
● Carry out deliveries to customer sites across London using company vans when required.
Candidate Requirements
● Reside within a commutable distance of Barking.
● Experience in a similar warehouse and/or delivery role.
● Previous experience within a builders' merchant, construction materials supplier, or similar industry would be advantageous.
● Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
● Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented approach.
● Full UK Driving Licence.
