Wayman Education is recruiting a SEN TA for a supportive primary school in Richmond. The SEN TA will deliver targeted interventions, provide in-class support, assist with sensory and communication programmes and contribute to tailored education plans. This SEN TA vacancy starts January 2026, with induction and handover arranged prior to January 2026 so the SEN TA can begin the spring term confident and prepared.

About the role
The SEN TA will work under direction from the SENCo to implement individual programmes, adapt curriculum materials and support pupils’ access to learning. The SEN TA will run small-group literacy and numeracy interventions, support social skills groups, and help pupils generalise taught strategies in mainstream lessons. In Richmond, the SEN TA will join a professional team offering training and collaborative review meetings.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver structured one-to-one and small-group interventions and monitor their impact.
  • Assist pupils in-class to practise and apply skills taught by teachers.
  • Support sensory regulation, personal care routines where needed and implement behaviour strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records to inform reviews and work with parents and external specialists in Richmond.
  • Support transitions and provide clear handovers for colleagues across the school.

Person specification

  • Proven experience as a SEN TA delivering interventions in a school setting.
  • Calm, flexible and skilled at practical differentiation and record-keeping.
  • Committed to inclusive practice and available to start January 2026 in Richmond.
