We're looking for a friendly, organised, and proactive School Administrator to become an integral part of a welcoming primary school in Hackney. As the first point of contact for many visitors and families, you'll play a key role in ensuring the school runs smoothly each day. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and making a positive impact.
What You'll Be Doing
Welcoming visitors, parents, pupils, and contractors while maintaining a professional and friendly reception.
Managing incoming telephone calls, emails, and general enquiries, ensuring they are handled efficiently.
Supporting attendance administration, pupil records, admissions, and general school data.
Using school management systems such as SIMS or Arbor to maintain accurate records.
Preparing letters, reports, and school communications using Microsoft Office.
Assisting with school events, trips, meetings, and diary management.
Supporting safeguarding procedures, including visitor sign-in and maintaining accurate records.
Providing general administrative support including filing, scanning, photocopying, and document management.
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Warm, approachable, and enjoys working with children, families, and colleagues.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Able to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
Confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems such as SIMS or Arbor.
A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills.
Professional, reliable, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
A team player who is happy to support wherever needed.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
Knowledge of school attendance, admissions, or safeguarding administration.
Experience using SIMS, Arbor, or other Management Information Systems.
