A forward-thinking Good primary in Wandsworth is seeking a creative and reflective Year 4 Teacher to join its KS2 team on a Full-Time basis with a January 2026 start. The Year 4 Teacher will begin handover and planning sessions ahead of the January 2026 start, take part in induction in January 2026 and be fully in-class from the January 2026 start. This is an excellent Year 4 Teacher role for someone passionate about developing reasoning in mathematics, strong comprehension in reading and confident, fluent writers.

The appointed Year 4 Teacher will work within a collaborative KS2 phase where curriculum design is shared and evidence-informed practice is valued. The Year 4 Teacher will benefit from a strong leadership team supporting CPD and will have planning time allocated in the weeks before the January 2026 start. As a Full-Time Year 4 Teacher, you will lead inspiring sequences, design assessment routines and support transition pathways through upper KS2.
Year 4 Teacher — key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-sequenced Year 4 lessons that deepen conceptual understanding.
- Use assessment effectively to inform learning and run targeted interventions.
- Lead enrichment activities, trips and cross-curricular projects as the Year 4 Teacher.
- Engage with parents, attend meetings and contribute to phase moderation from the January 2026 start onward.
Person specification for the Year 4 Teacher
We seek a Year 4 Teacher with QTS, strong KS2 experience and evidence of impact in accelerating progress. The Year 4 Teacher will have excellent behaviour management, a love of curriculum design and the ability to collaborate with colleagues. The Year 4 Teacher will be expected to plan and attend CPD before the January 2026 start, and to be in-class as a Full-Time Year 4 Teacher from the January 2026 start.
Contract & support
This is a Full-Time Year 4 Teacher post beginning with a January 2026 start. The school provides induction, mentoring and targeted CPD to help the Full-Time Year 4 Teacher make an immediate impact after the January 2026 start. The Full-Time contract includes access to planning time and development opportunities.
