👥 HR Manager - Westminster | Secondary School
Westminster | ⏰ ASAP Start | Temporary to Permanent | Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm | Term Time Only | £45,000–£52,000 FTE
A secondary school in Westminster is looking for an experienced HR Manager to join its team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
Working closely with the HR Assistant, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day HR function and provide practical support to staff and senior leaders across the school.
The Role
You’ll be involved across the full employee lifecycle, including:
Managing recruitment, onboarding and safer recruitment checks.
Providing advice on employee relations, absence and performance matters.
Supporting disciplinary, grievance and capability processes.
Maintaining accurate personnel records and HR systems.
Overseeing the Single Central Register and HR compliance.
Supporting contracts, variations and staff changes.
Monitoring absence and supporting return-to-work processes.
Advising managers on HR policies and employment legislation.
Working alongside the HR Assistant on day-to-day HR administration.
About You
We’re looking for someone with previous HR Manager or senior HR experience, ideally within a school or education setting.
You’ll need good knowledge of employment law, strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with sensitive employee matters professionally.
A CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience would be expected, alongside a good understanding of safeguarding and safer recruitment.
