The Role:
Join our Luminary Lighting Department as Lighting Repairs Supervisor and lead the safe, efficient repair, refurbishment and testing of professional lighting equipment.

Based at Direct Digital in Park Royal, London, you will take day-to-day responsibility for the Luminary workshop’s people, processes and equipment. Alongside hands-on repair, maintenance and testing, you will supervise a Repair Technician, manage priorities and resources, monitor costs and performance, support parts ordering and ensure completed work meets agreed safety, functionality, presentation and turnaround standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Create and maintain a safe and efficient working environment with adherence to all health and safety requirements.
• Lead by example, set clear expectations and develop a motivated, collaborative team that takes ownership of productivity, quality, safety and agreed turnaround times.
• Ensure the team understands and follows all company and departmental procedures, work instructions, health and safety requirements and defined processes.
• Provide practical technical guidance, coaching and knowledge-sharing to help colleagues build their skills and improve the department’s efficiency and productivity.
• Own departmental performance measures, monitor productivity, quality and turnaround times, and drive continuous improvement so priority work is completed to agreed deadlines.
• Plan and deploy the team flexibly to respond to peaks and troughs in demand and meet the requirements of priority repairs.
• Ensure all repaired and refurbished equipment meets agreed quality and safety standards and is formally tested and inspected before despatch.
• Liaise professionally with external suppliers and contractors, protecting the company’s interests and ensuring all relevant procedures are followed.
• Clean and retouch equipment using appropriate cleaners, paints and solvents, following required procedures and using the correct personal protective equipment.
• Monitor and analyse repair and refurbishment costs to support informed refurbish-or-replace decisions, improve cost efficiency and control expenditure.

 What you’ll bring to the role: 

• Relevant supervisory or team-lead experience within lighting repairs, electrical or electronic equipment servicing, technical maintenance, refurbishment or a comparable workshop environment.
• Strong practical fault-finding, repair, maintenance and testing skills, with the ability to learn new lighting equipment and share technical knowledge with colleagues.
• Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to set clear expectations, coach colleagues, manage priorities and build a collaborative team.
• The judgement to work independently when resolving technical and operational issues, while collaborating effectively with the Luminary team, the wider Direct Digital business, suppliers and contractors.
• A proactive, practical and improvement-focused approach, with a strong commitment to safe working, quality, customer service and timely delivery.
