Job Description

This is a high-impact opportunity to help shape the trading performance of The AA’s Motor, Van and Home insurance portfolios. Joining our Broker Trading team, you’ll work closely with the Head of Trading to turn performance data and market insight into clear decisions that support portfolio growth, customer value and commercial performance.

You’ll take ownership of day-to-day trading performance, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and help translate insight into action. Working across Pricing, Proposition, Growth, Operations and Digital, you’ll connect teams around trading priorities and help deliver initiatives, customer offers and forecasts that keep our portfolios competitive and performing strongly.

It’s a role with meaningful senior stakeholder exposure, where your recommendations can directly shape trading decisions and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day delivery of the trading plan, using performance insight to support portfolio growth and value targets across Motor, Van and Home insurance.
• Analyse and present trading performance to senior stakeholders, turning variances, drivers, risks and opportunities into clear recommendations that improve sales, retention, customer outcomes and commercial performance.
• Partner with Pricing, Proposition and Growth teams to develop trading initiatives, propositions and customer offers that strengthen portfolio performance and customer value.
• Own the retention discount approach, working with Trading, Proposition and Operations to develop compelling offers that support retention while delivering commercial benefit.
• Monitor competitor, price comparison website and wider market activity, combining external insight with trading deep dives to identify trends and opportunities for action.
• Act as the key trading link across Operations, Digital, Proposition and Growth, building alignment around priorities and enabling coordinated delivery of the wider trading strategy.
• Support trading forecasts and ensure activity is delivered within regulatory requirements, governance standards and customer outcome expectations, deputising for the Head of Trading where appropriate.

Qualifications

You’ll Bring

• Experience managing or supporting commercial trading performance within B2C insurance or another regulated consumer business.
• A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to balance growth, retention, customer value and business performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, using data and insight to identify opportunities and improve performance.
• Confidence influencing stakeholders and building effective relationships across cross-functional teams.
• Experience working collaboratively with functions such as Pricing, Finance and Proposition to turn insight into action.
• Clear communication skills, including the ability to translate complex analysis into practical recommendations for different audiences.

Nice to Have

• Experience within Motor, Van or Home insurance.
• Understanding of insurance portfolio economics, customer value and retention drivers.
• A relevant insurance, commercial, analytical or financial qualification.
