Senior Administrator Role in an Outstanding Secondary School

About the Role
The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative support while helping to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the school office.
Working closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager, and senior leadership team, you will coordinate key administrative functions, maintain accurate school records, manage correspondence, support admissions and attendance processes, and provide an outstanding service to pupils, parents, staff, and external agencies.
This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide senior administrative support across the school
Maintain accurate pupil records and management information systems
Support admissions, attendance, and reporting processes
Coordinate communication with parents, staff, governors, and external agencies
Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation for senior leaders
Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, and school policies
Organise meetings, events, and visitor management
Contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the school office

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in a senior administrative role
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and school management systems
Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities
Professional, approachable, and able to maintain confidentiality
Desirable
Experience working within a school or educational setting
Knowledge of SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom
Understanding of admissions, attendance, safeguarding, and GDPR
Experience supporting senior leaders or supervising administrative staff
