The Role

As a Site Assistant, you will be responsible for the upkeep, security, and smooth operation of the school site. • Carry out minor repairs and report major issues to the caretaker or senior leadership

  • Monitor and maintain safety and security systems, including locking/unlocking buildings

  • Supervise deliveries, portering tasks, and storage organisation

  • Maintain cleanliness standards and assist cleaning staff where required

  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and external service providers

  • Ensure the school site is safe, secure, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors

  • Maintain records related to site management and safety checks

  • Contribute to a professional, organised, and efficient school environment

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have prior experience in site work, caretaking, or facilities support

  • Be proactive, reliable, and able to work independently

  • Demonstrate strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Be physically capable of performing the duties required

  • Show attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards

  • Be friendly, approachable, and able to work collaboratively with staff

  • Understand and follow health and safety regulations
