The Site Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient learning environment for all.

The Role

As a Site Assistant, you will be responsible for the upkeep, security, and smooth operation of the school site. This includes assisting with maintenance tasks, health and safety checks, and supporting events and daily activities. You will work closely with the caretaker, office staff, and senior leadership to ensure that the school environment meets high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out minor repairs and report major issues to the caretaker or senior leadership

  • Monitor and maintain safety and security systems, including locking/unlocking buildings

  • Support health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and checks

  • Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for school events and activities

  • Supervise deliveries, portering tasks, and storage organisation

  • Maintain cleanliness standards and assist cleaning staff where required

  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and external service providers

  • Ensure the school site is safe, secure, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors

  • Maintain records related to site management and safety checks

  • Contribute to a professional, organised, and efficient school environment

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have prior experience in site work, caretaking, or facilities support

  • Be proactive, reliable, and able to work independently

  • Demonstrate strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Be physically capable of performing the duties required

  • Show attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards

  • Be friendly, approachable, and able to work collaboratively with staff

  • Understand and follow health and safety regulations

The school is located in Stratford, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community. Staff benefit from a professional, inclusive, and well-resourced working environment where collaboration, development, and wellbeing are prioritised.
