Assistant Store Manager

We’re recruiting for an exceptional Assistant Manager to join a high-performing, premium menswear retail store in one of North West London’s busiest shopping destinations. This is a flagship, high-turnover environment and a key opportunity for an ambitious retail leader ready to step into a true “number two” position with clear progression to Store Manager. The Opportunity This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, service-led store. You’ll work closely with an experienced Store Manager, taking ownership of day-to-day operations and leading from the front on the shop floor. The store has a diverse customer base, high service expectations, and a significant volume of online returns—making it one of the most commercially and operationally challenging (and rewarding) environments in the business. Key Responsibilities: Lead, inspire, and develop a team to deliver exceptional customer service and exceed sales targets Act as the Store Manager’s second-in-command, confidently running the store in their absence Drive commercial performance through active selling, coaching, and floor leadership Manage performance, conduct reviews. Maintain high visual, operational, and service standards at all times Support operational processes including stock, rotas, and payroll (as the role develops) Create a positive, energetic, and high-performing team culture About You: Currently an Assistant Manager (or equivalent) in a high-turnover retail environment Strong track record of delivering against sales and KPI targets Confident managing a diverse team, including handling performance issues and difficult conversations Hands-on and visible leader who thrives on the shop floor Commercially sharp, competitive, and target-driven Resilient and confident dealing with demanding customers Passionate about retail, ideally with experience in fashion, tailoring, or premium apparel Ambitious, with a clear goal to progress to Store Manager What’s on Offer: Quarterly bonus scheme with strong earning potential Clear progression pathways within a growing retail business Structured training and development Free on-site parking Opportunity to gain experience in one of the business’s most high-profile and commercially challenging stores Why Apply?
