Energy Underwriting Associate (80 - 100% working degree)

About the Role
As an Energy Underwriting Associate, you'll be at the intersection of technical knowledge and client service, supporting our underwriting processes for energy sector clients. You'll work with a diverse portfolio of energy risks while developing your expertise in this specialised field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Management - Enter and maintain insurance and client information in systems and tools with precision and attention to detail
- Technical Support - Deliver business processing of administrative and technical support for the energy underwriting business unit
- Documentation - Ensure all underwriting files are complete, accurate and properly maintained
- Task Ownership - Take ownership of work with prioritization and pro-active handling of own tasks to meet deadlines
- Risk Assessment - Support the evaluation of energy sector risks according to company guidelines
- Client Communication - Assist with client queries and provide timely responses to stakeholders
About the Team
In Operations, we provide support to the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (CorSo) Underwriting Teams in handling insurance and reinsurance business for corporations and/or their captives.
You will be joining the UK Operations Team, having a variety of proficiencies, skills and experience, all committed to bring success to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. In the role of Underwriting Associate, you will work closely with the wider Operations team, a dynamic group responsible for maintaining insurance and client information systems, delivering administrative and technical support.

Your ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy makes you an ideal candidate for this role.
We are looking for candidates who bring:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in insurance, underwriting, or related financial services
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel
These are additional nice to haves:
- Knowledge of energy sector risks and insurance products
- Experience with insurance underwriting systems and databases
- Understanding of risk assessment methodologies
- Project management skills
- Insurance or risk management certifications (e.g. CII, ACII, ARM) #LI-Hybrid
For London, the annual base salary range for this position is between GBP 29 000 and GBP 43 000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
- the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience
