Higher Level Teaching Assistant

A SEND School in Havering is looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support specialist students with SEMH and additional needs between the ages of 4–19 years old .
This role is dedicated to those who want to inspire students with SEND , many of whom come from distressed or challenging backgrounds . The ideal candidate will be confident, resilient, and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children with complex needs.
The right candidate will need to:
Be confident using de-escalation strategies
Be resilient , emotionally robust, and able to handle challenging behaviour
Have a background or interest in SEN or Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH)
Be empathetic and committed to supporting each child as an individual
Ideally have a background in sports, outdoor education, or activity coordination , as this role includes regular outdoor learning and physical activities
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
This is a full-time , long-term role with a competitive salary , dependent on experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
