The Opportunity
Wayman Education is urgently seeking a hardworking and reliable School Caretaker for a vibrant school in the heart of Ealing . This is an immediate requirement for a practical, "hands-on" individual who takes pride in ensuring a school environment is safe, clean, and fully operational for students and staff.
The Role
As the School Caretaker, you will be the backbone of the school's physical infrastructure. This is a varied role that requires a mix of technical skill, physical stamina, and a proactive mindset. You will work closely with the School Business Manager to ensure the site meets all health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Security: Primary key holder responsible for the daily opening and securing of the school buildings and grounds.
Reactive Maintenance: Handling minor repairs including plumbing (leaks/blockages), carpentry (door handles/locks), and painting/decorating.
Health & Safety Compliance: Conducting essential safety checks, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting, and water temperature monitoring.
Portage & Logistics: Setting up halls for assemblies, exams, and parents' evenings, and managing the receipt of heavy deliveries.
Environmental Upkeep: Ensuring the playground and entrances are free of litter and hazards, and managing waste disposal.
Contractor Management: Escorting external contractors on-site and ensuring work is completed safely.

DIY & Maintenance Skills: Proven experience in general building maintenance or a trade background.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual handling tasks and remain active throughout the day.
Reliability: Must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable with key-holding responsibilities.
Communication: Able to interact professionally with staff, pupils, and parents.
Awareness: A solid understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
