SEN Teaching Assistant Role in Northolt – Helping Children Build Confidence and Independence

The Role

Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN across the school day
Implement strategies from EHCPs, support plans, and behaviour plans
Support pupils with focus, communication, and engagement in learning
Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Encourage independence and resilience in pupils
Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
Record observations and contribute to progress reviews
Some roles may involve personal care or physical support, depending on pupil needs. Full training and guidance will be provided, with a strong emphasis on dignity and safeguarding.
