About People & Culture Team

The BT People and Culture team is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, innovative, and engaging work environment where every employee can thrive. We focus on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent, ensuring that our workforce is equipped with the skills and support needed to drive our business forward. By championing diversity & wellbeing, promoting continuous learning, and being focused on delivering value for our organisation, we create a culture that empowers our people to deliver exceptional results for our customers and communities. Aligned with BT's vision to "connect for good," we amplify the power of people and technology to help solve some of the UK’s biggest challenges and build meaningful connections.

Why This Job Matters:

As the People Relations Specialist (Partner), you will ensure that all People Relations cases are effectively supported and managed by the Specialist Hubs and Case Team.

You will embed in your CFU (business area) and have comprehensive oversight of the People Relations landscape in your area, acting as the bridge and People Relations Partner between the Case Teams and your CFU People & Culture (P&C) Team to ensure seamless delivery of case services. Additionally, you will identify case insights and themes through data and your partnerships, feeding this into continuous improvement and enhancing the colleague experience.

You will foster a values-driven and inclusive People Relations service and culture across your CFU area, ensuring that matters are approached with fairness, consistency, and a human-centric, risk-managed perspective.

Building strong stakeholder relationships will also be key to your role. You will leverage data and insights to drive strategic outcomes, improving case management, policies, procedures, and products.

Collaborating closely with colleagues in People and HR Services, CFU P&C, Senior Stakeholders, Ethics, Corporate Investigations, and the Legal team, your contributions will promote positive change, remove barriers, and enhance the colleague experience.

Skills and Experience You’ll Need:

  • Deep understanding of ER practices, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
  • Experience in designing and delivering effective training programs
  • Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes
  • Strong skills in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with the ability to anticipate and advise on changes
  • Familiarity with SAP systems, SuccessFactors, and ServiceNow

Benefits:

  • 10% on target bonus
  • BT Pension scheme, minimum 5% Employee contribution, BT contribution 10%
  • From January 2025, equal family leave: receive 18 weeks at full pay, 8 weeks at half pay and 26 weeks at the statutory rate. It’s for all parents, no matter how your family is made up
  • Enhanced women’s health support: including help with menopause symptoms, cancer screenings, period care and more
  • 25 days annual leave (not including bank holidays), increasing with service
  • 24/7 private virtual GP appointments for UK colleagues
  • 2 weeks carer’s leave
  • World-class training and development opportunities
  • Option to join BT Shares Saving schemes

A Few Points To Note:

Although these roles are listed as full-time, if you’re a job share partnership, work reduced hours, or any other way of working flexibly, please still get in touch.

We will also offer reasonable adjustments for the selection process if required, so please do not hesitate to inform us.

Don’t Meet Every Single Requirement:

Studies have shown that women and people who are disabled, LGBTQ+, neurodiverse or from ethnic minority backgrounds are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification and criteria. We're committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace where everyone can be their best, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every requirement on the Job Description, please apply anyway - you may just be the right candidate for this or other roles in our wider team.
