About the role
Join one of London’s most ambitious and forward-looking boroughs.
Hammersmith & Fulham is a thriving West London borough at the forefront of regeneration and innovation. We work alongside world-class partners including Imperial College London, Westfield, the BBC, IKEA, Berkeley Group, HS2 and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC). With extensive river frontage and our landmark Civic Campus opening this year, we offer a truly cutting-edge working environment.
Our industrial strategy, Upstream , is already transforming the borough—creating a new tech cluster in West London and delivering over £6 billion in investment and more than 13,000 jobs. This is a place where growth, heritage and opportunity come together.
What we offer
We support flexible, hybrid working—combining home working with time spent at our new Civic Campus. We are continually improving how we deliver services through digital innovation and encourage all staff to play a role in shaping these developments.
You’ll benefit from a supportive and experienced management team committed to your professional growth. The role offers excellent opportunities to develop a broad planning skillset, including negotiation, mentoring, and report writing—helping you progress your career in a high-performing planning service.
You’ll manage a diverse and exciting caseload, from householder applications and changes of use to large-scale masterplans within designated Opportunity Areas. Our borough combines dense housing, rich historic character, major cultural assets, and internationally recognised sporting venues, including three major football stadiums, alongside some of the world’s leading developers.
As a valued member of staff, you’ll work collaboratively with residents, developers and key stakeholders. You’ll bring strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the flexibility to manage competing priorities while contributing new ideas and approaches.
