Join London’s best council and play a leading role in telling our stories. This is a mix of media relations – proactive and reactive – and work on digital content for social media, e-newsletters and other channels. Hybrid role with two days a week in Southwark, including Tuesday at our Tooley Street office near London Bridge. To start in early January 2025 until the end of March 2025. For a person with exceptional skills and experience, rate may be negotiable.
Hourly Umbrella rate: £34.56
There might be an option for extra payment for on-call duties, if the candidate is interested (for further discussion)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To promote the council’s key messages, initiatives and policies and protect the reputation of the council through the delivery of an effective proactive and reactive media service.
1.2 To give advice to members and senior officers on the most effective ways of generating positive media coverage and responding to a wide range of enquiries from all kinds of media.
1.3 To create and advise on effective and imaginative social media and other digital content about the council’s key messages, policies and initiatives.
1.4 To effectively use social media, e-newsletter and other council-owned digital channels to reach residents, peers and other groups with the council’s key messages.
Knowledge, including educational qualifications:
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
Professional (such as CIPR or NCTJ) qualification
Experience:
