Senior Quantity Surveyor

A design-focused property consultancy in West London is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking involvement in high-quality London projects, with a particular focus on residential-led developments, refurbishment and carefully considered property schemes.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will take a leading role across projects from initial feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account. Working closely with clients, architects and contractors, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide clear commercial advice while ensuring budgets, procurement strategies and contractual matters are managed effectively throughout each commission.

This position would suit a commercially confident Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working within a smaller, hands-on consultancy environment where senior staff remain closely involved with both projects and clients. There is scope to take ownership of commissions, develop existing client relationships and become an important part of the consultancy's continued growth across London.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

Preparing detailed cost plans, estimates and feasibility advice
Leading tendering, procurement and contractor selection processes
Managing valuations, variations, change control and final accounts
Providing commercial and contractual advice throughout project delivery
Attending and leading client, consultant and project meetings
Monitoring project expenditure and reporting against agreed budgets
Supporting junior Quantity Surveyors where required
Maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholdersSenior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
Strong UK consultancy / PQS experience
MRICS qualified or progressing towards chartership
Good knowledge of JCT contracts and traditional procurement routes
Proven pre- and post-contract cost management experience
Confident managing projects with limited supervision
Strong client-facing, reporting and commercial skills
Experience within London residential, refurbishment or comparable property projects would be advantageousIn Return:
