Handyman/Maintenance Assistant
Live-out Residential Handyman / Maintenance Assistant
Belgravia, London | £40,000 – £43,000 DOE
We are seeking a capable, proactive Residential Handyman to take pride of place in the day-to-day care of an exceptional private residence in Belgravia. This is a genuinely varied, practical role for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems, and keeping a beautiful home running flawlessly.
Rather than a technical engineering position, this role is all about attention to detail, practical know-how, and pride in presentation. You will be the trusted go-to person for everyday repairs, preventative maintenance, and small improvement projects, working alongside a professional and discreet household team in a refined, high-standard environment.
If you’re the type of person who notices the small things, enjoys fixing what needs fixing, and likes leaving a property looking better than when you arrived, this could be a superb long-term opportunity.
The Role:
- Take ownership of the day-to-day upkeep of a prestigious private home
- Carry out a wide range of handyman and general maintenance tasks
- Attend to minor electrical and plumbing issues (lighting, sockets, leaks, taps, fittings, etc.)
- Complete small repairs, installations, and improvement works with care and precision
- Carry out routine checks and preventative maintenance to keep everything running smoothly
- Act quickly and efficiently on ad-hoc repair requests, particularly when the principals are in residence
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors for specialist works when required
- Keep straightforward records of completed work and upcoming maintenance needs
- Always work neatly, safely, and with minimal disruption to the household
- Provide occasional out-of-hours or weekend assistance when required
About You:
- Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance assistant, caretaker, or similar role
- Experience in a private residence, luxury property, or high-end hospitality environment is highly desirable
- Confident with general household electrics and plumbing (no heavy engineering required)
- Trade qualifications or gas training are advantageous but not essential
- Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
- Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of a private household environment
- Takes genuine pride in workmanship and presentation
- Flexible, adaptable, and happy to muck in where needed
- Fluent English preferred
Package & Hours:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Flexibility: Occasional weekend or out-of-hours work when principals are in residence
- Salary: £40,000 – £43,000 depending on experience
- Position: Live-out, permanent role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Handyman who wants stability, variety, and the satisfaction of maintaining a truly exceptional home - where your work will be noticed, valued, and appreciated.
