We’re now looking for an Account Manager to join our Commercial Management team. In this pivotal role, you’ll act as the key link between Foodbuy and assigned Compass sectors , ensuring our procurement solutions meet client needs and deliver measurable value.

What you'll be doing

As an Account Manager, you’ll be the face of Foodbuy to internal Compass clients. You’ll lead on client engagement, commercial delivery, and stakeholder alignment — ensuring that each sector you support is well-served, informed, and equipped to achieve its business objectives through procurement excellence.

Build and manage strong client relationships

  • Act as the lead point of contact for designated Compass sectors

  • Develop a deep understanding of sector needs, priorities, and performance goals

  • Lead joint business planning (JBP) sessions to align commercial strategy and drive shared outcomes

  • Proactively communicate Foodbuy’s value proposition to key stakeholders

Drive value and account growth

  • Identify and deliver sector-specific commercial opportunities in partnership with procurement teams

  • Support pricing strategy, supplier engagement, and contract renewal processes

  • Drive initiatives that increase purchasing income and improve supply chain performance

  • Ensure successful mobilisation of new business and respond to challenges with agility

Monitor performance and ensure compliance

  • Track KPIs and compliance against agreed targets

  • Analyse data to provide actionable insights and regular account performance reporting

  • Promote the use of preferred suppliers and contracted product ranges across the sector

  • Lead on issue resolution and crisis support, ensuring strong communication throughout

Champion sustainability and social value

  • Help sectors meet their sustainability KPIs and net zero goals

  • Support the rollout of ESG initiatives and client-facing sustainability content

  • Promote supplier stories and CSR impact in client communications

  • Contribute to education and awareness of Compass and Foodbuy’s social value agenda

Collaborate across teams

  • Work with cross-functional teams including procurement, culinary, operations, and data

  • Represent sector interests in central Foodbuy projects (e.g. onboarding, reporting, promotions)

  • Share client feedback to support continuous improvement and innovation

  • A relationship-led, commercially aware account manager with experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial roles

  • Strong analytical skills and confidence in using data to inform decisions

  • A confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels

  • Experienced in managing multiple stakeholders within a large, matrix organisation
