The role — Year 4 Teacher overview
The Year 4 Teacher will plan, teach and assess a broad curriculum, ensuring pupils develop fluency in maths and stamina in reading. The Year 4 Teacher will use formative assessment to inform next steps, lead trips and enrichment, and prepare pupils for upper KS2 demands. This Year 4 Teacher post begins January 2026 and includes planning time in the weeks before January 2026 .

Year 4 Teacher responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality, differentiated Year 4 lessons as the Year 4 Teacher .
• Lead whole-class guided reading and extended writing as the Year 4 Teacher .
• Use assessment data as the Year 4 Teacher to target support and interventions.
• Engage with parents as the Year 4 Teacher to celebrate progress.

Person spec — Year 4 Teacher
• QTS and previous Year 4 experience as a Year 4 Teacher .
• Strong behaviour management and an engaging classroom presence as a Year 4 Teacher .
• A collaborative Year 4 Teacher keen to develop practice and lead initiatives.
