Year 1 Teacher | Independent School | Kingston
Our client seeks a vibrant Year 1 Teacher to join a prestigious Independent School in Kingston. The successful Year 1 Teacher will teach a carefully sequenced KS1 curriculum, embedding strong phonics, early writing and number fluency. The Year 1 Teacher will attend pre-term planning in January 2026, complete a thorough induction in January 2026, and take full class responsibility from January 2026. With small classes and specialist support, this Independent School enables a Year 1 Teacher to deliver personalised, high-impact learning.
• Year 1 Teacher required on a Full-Time basis with a January 2026 start.
• Year 1 Teacher to work within an Independent School in Kingston from January 2026.
• Year 1 Teacher to join a high-achieving, well-resourced Lower School team; induction begins January 2026.

What the Year 1 Teacher will do
As Year 1 Teacher, you will design systematic phonics, talk-for-writing and mastery maths; run early-intervention groups; collaborate with the SENDCo; and communicate regularly with families. The Year 1 Teacher will model evidence-informed practice, contribute to assessment weeks in January 2026, and curate displays celebrating progress through and after January 2026.
Experience and Qualifications
• Year 1 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), strong KS1 pedagogy and excellent behaviour for learning routines.
• Commitment to whole-child development within an Independent School culture.
• Availability for planning prior to January 2026, induction in January 2026, and teaching from January 2026 as Year 1 Teacher.
