Competition Lawyer
Taylor Root is pleased to be partnering with a leading international law firm to appoint a mid‑level Competition Associate within its growing competition practice.
This opportunity offers the chance to join a team experiencing significant expansion and increased investment. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of complex and high‑value UK and EU competition matters across a variety of sectors, benefitting from early responsibility and substantial client interaction.
The role will involve advising on merger control, foreign investment reviews, competition authority investigations, behavioural and dominance issues, and matters involving horizontal and vertical agreements. You will also gain exposure to competition litigation and a wide range of economic regulatory work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling merger control filings, foreign investment assessments and competition investigations.
- Drafting submissions and advising on behavioural issues, compliance and commercial arrangements.
- Supporting clients across sectors including technology, TMT, financial services, and other regulated and high‑growth industries.
- Contributing to business development initiatives and supporting the continued growth of the practice.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2-4 PQE and qualification in the UK or an EU jurisdiction.
- Experience in merger control, investigations, behavioural advice and/or foreign investment work (with a strong willingness to develop further).
- Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and confidence engaging directly with clients.
This position offers significant responsibility from the outset, and the opportunity to develop under the guidance of highly experienced competition specialists.
Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
