Job Title: Pharmacy Dispenser

Location: LIPS Healthcare

Working Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week - including alternate weekends (1 in 2). Shifts

start at 8:00 am

Reports To: Pharmacy Director

Job Purpose

To support the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services by preparing, dispensing, and managing prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, while providing excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescriptions , ensuring correct labelling, dosage, and packaging.
• Provide excellent customer service at the counter and over the phone.
• Offer basic advice on over the counter (OTC) medications within scope of training.
• Ensure that all medication storage, handling, and disposal is in line with safety and legal requirements.
• Receive, unpack, and store pharmaceutical stock safely and securely.
• Assist in stock control and inventory checks , including expiry date monitoring.
• Maintain accurate patient records and prescription logs using pharmacy systems.
• Support the pharmacist in day-to-day operations and regulatory compliance.
• Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.

Requirements

Essential:

• Completed NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic IT skills for operating pharmacy software and records.

Desirable:

• Experience working in a community or retail pharmacy .
• Knowledge of NHS prescription processing (if applicable).

Salary:

starting at £13.80 per hour and includes 4 weeks of paid annual leave.
