Role Overview:
Deliver high-quality electrical services to housing associations. The role is to cover the electrical repairs for planned and responsive works such as lighting replacements and their control devices, faulting finding, EICR testing and remedials for properties and communal areas managed by Local Authorities and Social Housing clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems within social housing and a commitment to providing excellent service to both clients and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair electrical faults promptly to minimise disruption to tenants
Replace or upgrade electrical components, such as fuse boards and wiring systems
Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) and ensure all work complies with current regulations and standards, and completion of remedial works following EICRs
Conduct periodic testing in domestic properties
PAT testing
Electrical Heating repairs
Completing small quotes
Compiling condition reports
Undertake and complete all works in accordance with current Health & Safety Regulations
Undertake and complete all work in accordance with BS:7671 and NICEIC Best practice
Ensuring high levels of customer care in dealing with clients and tenants to meet the required quality standards
Communicate updates and progress of work, completing the required paperwork electronically and manually
Ensure all Health and Safety requirements and legislation, including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and COSHH Records, are adhered to during your daily work
Comply with parts ordering and auditing procedures so relevant parts are available to fulfil job requirements
Skills & Experience
NVQ level 3 in electrical installations, or equivalent (essential)
City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and testing qualification, or equivalent (essential)
18th edition Wiring Regulations BS7671 qualification (essential)
Valid UK driving Licence (essential)
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Commitment to delivering high-quality work and continuous improvement
