talkSPORT is the world’s biggest sports radio station. From World Cups and European Championships to the Premier League and the Champions League, through to Test cricket and world class boxing, the talkSPORT network is at the heart of the world’s major sporting events.
Your team: The talkSPORT.com team spans several departments – including editorial, social, audience and tech – and we’re looking for a new Social Media Assistant to help manage and deliver the scheduling and delivery of website articles and graphics across our social channels.
Your role: We’re looking for a Social Media Assistant (Casual) to join our website team. You’ll help deliver talkSPORT.com’s content across our social media channels - posting, scheduling, and packaging stories, graphics, and videos that connect with millions of sports fans every day.
Alongside supporting our main UK-focused social channels, you’ll also play a key role in helping to build and grow talkSPORT’s new U.S. sports social accounts.
Working closely with the Social Media Editor and wider editorial team, you’ll support the day-to-day running of our accounts, ensuring talkSPORT’s website content is promoted quickly, accurately, and creatively across platforms including Facebook, X, YouTube and Instagram.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who lives and breathes sport and wants to kick-start a career in social or digital media.
Day to day you will:
Post and schedule talkSPORT.com stories, clips, and graphics across multiple social platforms.
Write sharp, engaging headlines and captions that drive views, engagement and conversation.
Create and crop visuals using Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools to support website stories.
React quickly to breaking news, trending topics, and live sports moments with timely, platform-optimised posts.
Help monitor real-time traffic and social engagement to inform what’s working.
Work collaboratively with the wider editorial and video teams to ensure content consistency across platforms.
What we’re looking for from you:
Strong knowledge and passion for sport, with a particular interest in U.S.-centric sports.
Experience of creating content for social channels.
Understanding of what performs well across platforms such as Facebook and X.
Comfortable using Photoshop and/or possessing general graphic design skills.
Excellent spelling, grammar, and attention to detail.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends around key sporting events.
Able to commute into our London Bridge offices at least three times a week.
