Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Full-Time | Primary School | Cover & Intervention Start Date: April 2026 or Sooner Contract: Interim (until a permanent appointment is made) Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week Pay: Competitive daily rate in line with the HLTA pay scale (paid via agency) The School Academics is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school that prides itself on its strong community ethos and commitment to pupil success. The Role The school is seeking a skilled and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a varied and rewarding role, providing whole-class cover across the school during PPA time, leadership release and staff absence. You will play an important role in ensuring continuity of learning by delivering pre-planned lessons, maintaining positive classroom behaviour and supporting pupils across a range of year groups. This position would suit an adaptable HLTA who is comfortable working across different primary key stages and enjoys supporting teaching and learning in a dynamic school environment. Key Responsibilities Provide whole-class cover across the primary age range Deliver pre-prepared lessons and structured learning activities Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups where needed Maintain a positive learning environment and strong behaviour management Work closely with teachers and support staff to support pupil progress Ensure all safeguarding and school policies are followed at all times Candidate Requirements HLTA status or a relevant equivalent qualification Recent experience working within a UK primary school setting Confidence in leading a classroom independently Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly Professional, reliable and proactive approach A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities Why Apply?
