Group Finance Manager

The PizzaExpress Group comprises business units in the UK & Ireland, Hong Kong, UAE and Franchise sites across the world. The remit of this role is to manage all aspects of the Group’s internal and external financial reporting. The role will also extend to providing support to Group business units, in terms of Group processes and technical areas of accounting. The role includes the direct line management of a Group Reporting Analyst.

The candidate will need to pay close attention to detail and accuracy and will need to nurture key relationships with both local and overseas business units, as well as being comfortable working independently and taking initiative to problem solve.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for ensuring the timely submission of each business unit’s periodic financial information into the Group consolidation system (FCCS).
  • A key role in the year end statutory audit and any other audits that occur during the financial year, including liaising with the Group auditors.
  • Responsibility for the production of the UK entity statutory accounts, including the consolidated Group accounts and Annual Report.
  • Reviewing the results of the statutory audits of each business unit.
  • Responsibility for the periodic and ad hoc commentary around Group performance for senior stakeholders, involving gaining a solid understanding of the conditions surrounding the performance in each market.
  • Any ad-hoc analysis as required by the Group CFO or CEO.
  • Leading role in the production and implementation of technical Group accounting policies.
  • Impact analysis for any new accounting standards, including the project management of implementation of such standards across the Group.
  • Responsibility for Group Manual of Accounting including production and updating as required.

What you’ll need:

  • Qualification ACCA, ACA or similar
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Strong experience of monthly reporting for multiple cost centres
  • Strong knowledge of, and practical experience with internal controls
  • Solid technical accounting experience
  • Experience with integrated ERP and financial reporting systems
  • Excellent communication skills, and willingness to liaise with different departments across the business – including non-financial teams
