Trading Standards Officer
An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability (NRS) for a Trading Standards Officer to join our Environmental Health and Trading Standards team on a permanent basis.
NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on delivering essential city services.

Position Details
Working within the Trading Standards service, you will work both independently and as part of a wider team to contribute to the delivery a high quality regulatory service within Glasgow. The post may include evening and weekend working in order to cover events that fall outside standard work pattern arrangements, which would include a non standard payment.
This is a challenging and rewarding role in a busy local authority environment. You will have the opportunity to contribute to investigations, inspections, enforcement activities, and consumer/business advice, helping protect Glasgow’s communities and ensuring businesses operate within the law.
You must have good communication skills, the ability to interpret and apply legislation, sound investigative abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a working knowledge of the role of a Trading Standards Officer within a local authority setting.
A Diploma in Trading Standards or equivalent is an essential requirement.
A current driving licence is desirable.

Contract Details
Weekly Hours: 35 hours
Work Pattern: Monday – Sunday, may include evening and weekends
Pay: £43,956.89 - £51,154.27 and a non standard working payment of £1,357.00
