Graduate Knitwear Trainee
Phoebe Philo has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Knitwear Trainee to join the team in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Able to handknit and has basic knit knowledge
- Receive work and briefs from the design team and translate these ideas into 3D pieces
- Researching inspiration for collections and developing shapes and ideas from the brief
- Draping and pattern cutting to generate new and innovative shapes and volumes
- Produce quick, first 3D mock-ups to check fit and fabric
- Produce prototypes and finish samples in a timely manner for presentations
- Amend patterns and alter garments as required
Profile:
- Experience in Ready to Wear Design with an interest in Knitwear
- Degree level in Womenswear or Menswear design
- Technical capability with the ability to create mock-ups and work in 3D
- Intermediate pattern cutting and stitching skills
- Collaborative team player with strong initiative
- High level of creativity
- Flexible and adaptable
- Strong organisational skills
- Proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
