Manager - Customs & International Trade
Location: London (Hybrid - minimum 2 days per week in the office)
Salary : £60,000 - £70,000 plus excellent benefits

The Opportunity
Our client, a leading accountancy and advisory firm within a major global network, is seeking a Manager to join its growing Customs & International Trade team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality client work while supporting the continued growth of the practice.

The role offers exposure to complex and high-value engagements across customs, excise and CBAM, alongside clear opportunities for career progression.

The Role
As Manager, you will take day-to-day responsibility for delivering multiple client engagements, acting as the primary contact for clients and ensuring work is delivered to a consistently high technical and professional standard. You will also help develop junior team members and support the team's commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a wide range of customs and international trade engagements including:
  • Customs classification, origin and valuation
  • Preferential duty reviews and duty reclaims
  • Customs special procedures
  • AEO authorisations
  • HMRC audits, reviews and disclosures
  • Excise duties and approvals
  • CBAM advisory
• Manage projects end-to-end, from scoping and planning through to delivery and follow-on support.
• Act as the day-to-day lead on client relationships, maintaining strong communication and managing expectations.
• Support proposal preparation, fee discussions and budgeting; monitor recoveries and coordinate billing.
• Review technical work, manage workloads and support the development of Assistant Managers and junior staff.

Skills & Experience

• Typically 5+ years' experience in customs and international trade.
• Strong technical knowledge across core customs disciplines and experience leading engagements.
• Experience supervising or reviewing work of junior team members.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing fees, budgets and client relationships.
• A consultancy or professional services background preferred.
