Lead Analytics Engineer

Graphcore
London

About the job

Build the trusted analytics layer that turns Graphcore’s data into decisions people can act on.Graphcore is developing the hardware, software and systems infrastructure needed for the next generation of AI compute. As the business grows, trusted data foundations will shape faster planning, clearer reporting and better operational insight.

As Lead Analytics Engineer, you will own the analytics engineering layer within Graphcore’s data platform. You will build curated models, trusted metrics and semantic structures that teams can use with confidence.

You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand how decisions are made. Then you will turn raw data and ambiguous questions into governed datasets that support real action. This is a senior individual contributor role with broad ownership and visible impact across the business.

The team and culture

The Data & Analytics team builds trusted data foundations, scalable platforms and high-quality data products. Work happens through close partnership with teams across business, product, engineering and operations. You will act as the bridge between stakeholders and data engineers. You will shape models that reflect how the business works, not just how systems store data.

Decisions are grounded in evidence, clear definitions and practical delivery. You will be expected to challenge assumptions, take responsibility and help raise analytics engineering standards.

What we're looking for

· Demonstrable experience building production-quality dbt models for reliable self-service analytics
· Strong SQL skills, with experience designing maintainable transformation layers in a modern data platform
· Proven ability to translate business requirements and raw datasets into intuitive, governed data models
· Strong grasp of analytics engineering practices, including model layering, documentation, testing and semantic consistency
· Experience defining and maintaining trusted metrics, KPIs and curated datasets for business use
· Practical communication style, with the confidence to influence decisions and challenge assumptions constructively

While we have outlined a set of requirements, we value transferable skills and diverse experiences. If you meet most of our essential criteria, we encourage you to submit an application and showcase how your background makes you a strong candidate.

Benefits
· Flexible working: Balance your work and personal life with greater flexibility
· Generous leave: Take time to rest, recharge and enjoy life outside of work
· Retirement planning support: Up to 5% matched pension
· Phantom equity: Share in Graphcore’s success
· Workplace experience: Enjoy thoughtfully designed office spaces for collaboration, with free food and an on-site barista to support your day
· Peace of mind protection: Income protection and life assurance to provide financial security for you and your loved ones
· Flexible benefits: Tailor your benefits package with a choice of additional options, including private medical insurance and dental cover
· Optional benefits: Dental cover, health cash plan, private medical insurance, cycle to work scheme, give as you earn

We welcome people from all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone can do their best work. We’re an equal opportunity employer and recognise that everyone brings different strengths and perspectives. If you need any adjustments during the interview process, just let us know - we’re happy to support you.
