About the Role

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with a range of special educational needs. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will help students access the curriculum, remain engaged in learning and develop greater confidence and independence.

The school is looking for someone who is patient, adaptable and able to build strong relationships with students while providing consistent and encouraging support.

Experience and Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable

• Experience supporting students with SEN is advantageous

• A patient, caring and positive approach

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to build positive relationships with students

• A proactive and flexible attitude

• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support

• Assist students with accessing lessons and completing activities

• Support students' academic, social and emotional development

• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence

• Work closely with teachers and other support staff

• Adapt support according to individual student needs

• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
