What We're Looking For

At Self-Portrait, we are looking for a Junior Buyer & ECOM Visual Merchandiser to join the Buying team.

This is a product and visual merchandising role, combining strong fashion instinct and taste with commercial awareness. You will be responsible for how the collection is curated and presented online, identifying the key products and stories we should be pushing across ECOM, newsletters and Social Ads.

You will use your understanding of the Self-Portrait customer, fashion trends and weekly trading performance to inform these decisions, alongside identifying re-cut opportunities and supporting the seasonal retail buy for our London stores.

The role sits alongside the Senior Assistant Buyer and Assistant Buyer, reports into the Buying Manager, and works closely with Merchandising, ECOM, Graphics, Marketing and Logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage ECOM visual merchandising across key collection, category and editorial pages, ensuring product is presented in a way that feels fresh, relevant and commercially strong.

• Curate the collection by product story, trend, occasion and end-use, identifying the key products and stories to push each week.

• Translate the collection into engaging online product stories, balancing strong brand presentation with commercial opportunity.

• Work with ECOM Marketing on upcoming newsletter and Social Ad themes, selecting the right products and ensuring landing pages are aligned with the wider ECOM VM.

• Review weekly trading performance to understand what is selling, what is emerging and where products should be given greater visibility.

• Identify and present weekly re-cut opportunities based on product and regional performance, working with the Assistant Buyers to action approved re-cuts.

• Identify opportunities for additional imagery and content to further support bestselling and key products.

• Support the seasonal retail buy for our London stores, incorporating Store Manager feedback and trading performance into assortment and grading decisions.

• Stay close to the Self-Portrait customer, competitors and wider fashion trends, bringing relevant ideas into how the collection is curated and presented.

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years' experience in Buying, ECOM Visual Merchandising, Digital Visual Merchandising or a similar fashion role.

• Strong fashion instinct and visual taste, with a genuine understanding of product, trends and how to build a compelling collection story.

• Strong understanding of the Self-Portrait customer and what feels relevant to her.

• Experience in online visual merchandising and product curation within a fashion business.

• Commercially minded, with the ability to understand weekly sales and product performance and translate this into action.

• Comfortable using Excel and sales data to support product decisions.

• Able to balance creative instinct with commercial performance.

• Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Confident communicator who can work collaboratively across Buying, Merchandising, ECOM and Marketing.

• Naturally curious, proactive and confident challenging current practice and bringing forward new ideas.
