Southwark | ⏰ ASAP Start | Temporary to Permanent | Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm | Term Time Only | £45,000–£52,000 FTE

A well-established secondary school in Southwark is looking for an experienced HR Manager to join its team as soon as possible.

You’ll have responsibility for the school's day-to-day HR function and will work closely with an HR Assistant, senior leaders and line managers across the school.

About the Position

The role covers a broad range of HR activity, including:

• Providing practical HR advice to managers and staff.

• Managing recruitment and safer recruitment processes.

• Supporting employee relations cases.

• Overseeing absence, probation and performance processes.

• Managing contracts and staff changes.

• Maintaining accurate HR records and systems.

• Ensuring the Single Central Register is kept up to date.

• Supporting payroll and workforce information.

• Reviewing and implementing HR policies.

• Working alongside the HR Assistant on general HR administration.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have previous HR experience within a school, academy, college or similar education environment.

You should be confident advising managers, have a good understanding of current employment legislation and be able to deal with sensitive matters calmly and professionally.

A CIPD qualification would be advantageous, along with experience of safer recruitment and safeguarding requirements.
