Religious Education Teacher - Independent School - Wandsworth
An independent school in Wandsworth is seeking a thoughtful and engaging Religious Education Teacher to join its Humanities Department. You will deliver RE lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering a range of religious traditions, philosophical ideas and contemporary ethical questions.
The role will involve helping students understand different beliefs and perspectives while developing their ability to analyse sources, compare viewpoints and construct balanced arguments.
At GCSE, you will prepare students for the demands of the examination specification, supporting them with extended responses, evaluation and the application of religious teachings to ethical issues.
The successful teacher will be comfortable leading classroom discussion and creating an environment where students can respectfully challenge ideas and consider different perspectives.

Religious Education Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or related subject
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching RE at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE RE experience
Strong knowledge of religious and ethical issues
Excellent communication skills
Confidence leading structured classroom discussion
Strong classroom management
Effective planning and assessment skills
Ability to develop students' analytical and evaluative writing
Salary
The salary for this Religious Education Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
