Head of Technology – Contract (6 months+)

London – Hybrid | £700–£800 per day (Outside IR35)

Are you an experienced technology leader with a passion for driving innovation across cloud, infrastructure, and managed services?

We’re supporting a leading global technology partner that delivers secure, high-performing IT operations and digital transformation to clients across sectors including shipping, real estate, energy, and investment.

They’re looking for a Head of Technology to define and deliver their technology strategy — leading high-performing teams, driving technical excellence, and shaping the roadmap for internal operations and client-facing services.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and execute a modern technology strategy aligned to business and client goals.
• Oversee the delivery and optimisation of multi-client environments across Windows, Linux, Azure, AWS, and on-premise infrastructure.
• Lead, mentor, and develop talented technology teams to deliver operational excellence.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, monitoring, and automation.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and partners to deliver innovative, secure solutions.
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and technology investments.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background within IT Managed Services or technology consultancy environments.
• Proven leadership experience shaping and executing technology strategy.
• Hands-on experience with Windows & Linux administration , Azure and AWS .
• Sound understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR) and ITIL principles.
• Knowledge of automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible).
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Experience delivering cloud migrations , hybrid infrastructure , or endpoint modernisation projects .
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure/AWS Architect, ITIL, CISSP/CISM) highly desirable.
