Senior Operations Manager, Hub Delivery Expansion & Capacity Management Lead
Amazon seeks a Senior Operations Manager to join our Japan Amazon Logistics team. The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world class last mile operation delivering to customers. Amazon aims to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders are delivered as quickly, accurately, and in the most cost effective way as possible and we are expanding rapidly in Japan.
Responsibilities- The Hub Delivery Expansion & Capacity Management Lead is accountable for driving partner acquisition strategy, Sales team expansion, and network capacity optimization to meet growing operational demands.
- The Hub Delivery Expansion & Capacity Management Lead will lead the end-to-end aspects of partner onboarding, tracking and reviewing, utilizing technologies like Hugo and CTO for optimal location and partner selection. The position requires close collaboration with the Hub Delivery Program team to execute partner acquisition strategies while ensuring alignment with marketing initiatives and Sales member hiring timelines.
- The role demands strong leadership skills in scaling the Sales team including hiring of other role members. The role will need to possess an out-of-the-box thinking capability to ensure innovative ways of building the talent pool of the Hub Delivery team and create structured training modules to enhance performance of both Sales & other function team.
- Stakeholder management will be a key prerequisite for the role as they would need to liaise with multiple teams of program & planning as also vendors. Capacity planning for high volume events will be a critical responsibility, directed towards building driver's capacity for AMZL. This also includes developing bonus structures, partner communication templates, and leading all peak planning initiatives.
- As the single-threaded leader, this role will address all partner onboarding concerns raised by Program and leadership teams while establishing necessary cadences for expedited onboarding and launches.
- The role will need to possess strong skills in managing large teams. This will involve both recruitment and developing talent across levels. The ability to positively influence the team and be able to deliver results against business odds will be important.
- Success in this role demands excellence in strategic planning, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure optimal capacity management across the network while maintaining service quality and compliance standards.

- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
- 10+ years of Operations experience (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.)
- Experience to lead/manage a team of 10+ people and develop them
- Business level English
- Strong operations experience in a fast growing company/industry
- 15+ years of Operations experience (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.)
- Previous experience leading a rapid expansion plan
- Proven record of delivering multi programs on time
- Excellent communication skills
- Business level of Japanese
