Tutor
Location: West London Hours: 20 hours per week (part-time), term-time only (Monday-Friday availability required) Pay: £30-35 per hour We are looking for an experienced, supportive and adaptable tutor to work with children and young people who require additional learning, emotional and/or behavioural support. This is a rewarding role focused on creating a positive, responsive and supportive learning environment across home and school settings in the West London area. The tutor will work closely with students, families, school staff and other professionals to provide personalised educational support. Some curriculum planning, alongside school staff, and regular feedback to parents and relevant professionals will be part of the role. Tutor Role Based in West London, this part-time position involves delivering and adapting learning programmes to meet the individual needs, abilities and learning profiles of the students you support. You will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistency across different environments. Key Responsibilities Provide tutoring and learning support either in school or at home, depending on individual needs Deliver and adapt curriculum content to suit different ages, abilities and learning profiles Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents and other professionals Build positive relationships and create a sense of trust and emotional safety Use positive, student-centred approaches to encourage engagement and participation Support students to develop independence while providing appropriate guidance and reassurance Recognise and respond appropriately to sensory, emotional, behavioural or communication needs Allow appropriate processing time and use flexible approaches to communication Offer choices and adapt teaching methods according to individual preferences and needs Promote emotional regulation through a calm, consistent and predictable approach Provide regular feedback on progress, engagement and any emerging needs Support students in accessing familiar and supportive environments where appropriate Contribute to planning and reviewing personalised learning approaches Essential Qualities Experience supporting autistic children or young people and/or those with additional learning needs Experience working with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs is beneficial but not essential A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching and support Strong communication and relationship-building skills Patient, calm and empathetic manner Ability to adapt learning and communication to individual needs Comfortable working collaboratively with families, schools and other professionalsReeson Education: Reeson Education is England's Premier Recruitment Agency.
