The Role As the Senior Health & Safety Manager, you will be the strategic lead for all H&S activities across both the operational and maintenance teams. You'll shape policy, guide senior leadership, mentor a growing H&S team, and ensure sites operate to the highest standards of compliance and best practice. This is a senior leadership position with visibility at board level and direct influence over how safety is embedded across the organisation. Key Responsibilities
- Champion a positive, proactive safety culture aligned with ISO 45001 and all relevant legislation
- Develop and implement H&S strategies, policies, and procedures across all departments
- Lead and mentor a team of H&S professionals, supporting development and performance
- Conduct internal audits, workplace inspections, and compliance reviews, driving continuous improvement
- Lead accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and regulatory reporting
- Deliver training to staff at all levels, promoting shared responsibility for safety across the workforce
- Liaise with external consultants, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance and best practice alignment
- NEBOSH General and/or Construction Certificate
- Membership/accreditation with a recognised industry body (TechIOSH/CertIOSH/MIIRSM) with up-to-date CPD
- Proven experience managing or supervising safety professionals
- Strong understanding of construction methods and safe systems of work (MEP/PH)
- Experience conducting complex investigations and working with regulatory bodies
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
- Understanding of ESG in line with building practices
- Knowledge of integrated management systems
