Events and Marketing Manager

An award-winning, leading commercial barristers’ chambers is seeking an Events and Marketing Manager to join their Marketing team. This role will see you take overall responsibility for the strategic planning and delivery of chambers’ events programme, alongside developing client marketing activity to support business development objectives and strengthen client relationships. Based in London, you will report directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing and work closely with the wider Marketing, Practice Management and Front of House teams.

The Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual events and client marketing strategy, aligned with chambers’ business development objectives
• Lead on the planning, preparation and delivery of chambers’ events, including physical and online events
• Advise members and employees on event formats, topics, speakers, content and opportunities for client engagement
• Manage event budgets, monitor ROI and use attendance and engagement data to identify opportunities for improvement
• Develop and deliver marketing campaigns and communications to promote chambers’ events and client engagement opportunities
• Establish and maintain event and client-related data within chambers’ CRM system
• Manage event suppliers, external contractors and delivery partners, including negotiating contracts and ensuring value for money
• Develop systems and templates to improve the consistency and efficiency of chambers’ events delivery
• Work closely with the Digital and Marketing Executive to develop content and support wider client marketing activity arising from events
• Lead on internal communications relating to events and increase member engagement with the events programme
• Act as a brand guardian across all events-related marketing materials and communications
• Deputise for the Head of Communications and Marketing as required


The Candidate

• Significant experience in strategic events and client marketing, ideally within a legal, professional services or membership environment
• Proven experience planning and delivering complex, high-profile physical and online events
• Experience developing and managing a sustained events programme, with a focus on increasing the quality and impact of events
• Strong understanding of how events and events-led content can support client marketing and business development
• Experience using CRM systems and event data to identify audiences, measure engagement and demonstrate ROI
• Experience managing event budgets, suppliers and external partners, including contract negotiation
