We are looking to recruit a full-time First Contact Physiotherapist to join our established and experienced team . You will work Tuesday to Friday 08.30-18.30 3 days p/w and 08.30-18.00 1 day p/w. As a First Contact Physiotherapist , you will work onsite within GP practices as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team . You will assess, diagnose, and manage MSK patients at the first point of contact , working with full autonomy and strong clinical support . Please note that this is not a hybrid or remote role . You will be embedded within your allocated practice(s) , collaborating closely with GPs, reception teams, nurses, and wider MDT colleagues to deliver integrated, personalised patient care . You will be based across Ilford, Wanstead, Woodford etc and access to own transport is essential. You will have the opportunity to use or develop advanced skills , including injection therapy and independent prescribing , supported by protected CPD time and structured supervision . Clinical Practice
- Independently assess, diagnose, and manage MSK presentations , including complex cases
- Request investigations (e.g. imaging, blood tests) and make appropriate referrals
- Develop tailored self-management plans to support behavioural change and recovery
- Utilize full scope of practice , including prescribing and injection therapy (if qualified)
- Maintain daily utilisation records and collect Patient Satisfaction Questionnaires (PSQs)
- Work within a GP-based MDT , fostering strong relationships with practice staff
- Educate colleagues on MSK triage pathways and provide informal guidance
- Support clinical audits and service improvement initiatives
- Help shape and refine local MSK care pathways
- Participate in supervision and peer reflection sessions
- Continue development aligned with the HEE Roadmap to Practice
- Contribute to clinical governance and mentoring where appropriate

What You Will Do
Clinical Practice
- Independently assess, diagnose, and manage MSK presentations including complex cases
- Request investigations (e.g. imaging, blood tests) and make appropriate referrals
- Create tailored self-management plans to support behavioural change and recovery
- Use full scope of practice - including prescribing and injection therapy (if qualified)
- Record utilisation data daily and collect Patient Satisfaction Questionnaires (PSQs)
- Work as part of a GP-based MDT and build positive relationships with practice staff
- Educate colleagues on MSK triage pathways and provide informal guidance
- Support clinical audits and service improvement initiatives
- Help shape and refine local MSK care pathways
- Engage in supervision and peer reflection sessions
- Continue your development against the HEE Roadmap to Practice
- Contribute to clinical governance and mentoring where appropriate
Essential:
- HCPC & CSP registered Physiotherapist
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate clinical experience
- Minimum 3 years MSK clinical experience
- Understanding of the HEE Roadmap to Practice and the MSK Core Capabilities Framework
- Active CPD portfolio aligned to the 4 pillars of advanced practice
- Passed Stage 1 of the HEE Roadmap
- MSc Level 7 modules
- Prior FCP or MSK triage experience (private or NHS)
- Experience working in GP practices
- Experience using EMIS or SystmOne
- Qualified in injection therapy and/or as an Independent Prescriber
- Confident and friendly with a collaborative approach to integrating into GP practice teams
- Able to build strong relationships with GPs, receptionists, nurses, and MDT members
- Excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills
- Calm, resilient, and proactive in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare setting
- Comfortable with digital tools and modern clinical systems
- Committed to high standards of ethical, professional, and patient-centred care
- 12.5+ days protected CPD time annually

Qualifications
Essential
- HCPC and CSP registered Physiotherapist
- A degree in Physiotherapy
- Completion of some level 7 MSc learning (HEE Roadmap Stage 1 & 2)
- Qualified independent prescriber
- Qualified injection therapist

- Minimum 5 years post-graduate clinical experience
