Preconstruction Planner

CarmichaelUK are recruiting for a Pre-Construction Planner to join one of the UK’s leading Tier 1 contractors, supporting the delivery of a nationally significant low-carbon energy infrastructure programme. The Role As a Pre-Construction Planner, you’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining the early-stage programme that underpins the project’s complex design and manufacturing approach. Working closely with engineering, design management, and delivery teams, you will help shape the planning and sequencing for a new generation of sustainable, factory-led construction — a concept designed to revolutionise how critical infrastructure is delivered in the UK. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and managing pre-construction programmes using industry-standard planning tools (Primavera P6 / Powerproject). Working with design, procurement, and innovation teams to capture interdependencies and manufacturing sequences. Providing scenario analysis to support business cases, risk management, and delivery strategy. Contributing to programme optimisation to meet aggressive delivery targets and milestones. Supporting the planning transition into construction phase in alignment with digital project controls. About You You will bring: Proven experience in pre-construction or tender planning, with experience on major civil engineering projects. Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and modern planning methodologies. Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary engineering teams. A proactive, analytical mindset with excellent communication skills. A genuine interest in innovation, sustainability, and modern methods of construction (MMC)
