About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and inspiring Psychology Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (A-Level). Psychology is an incredibly popular subject choice at this school, and you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high student engagement and academic achievement. The successful candidate will be passionate about unpacking human behavior and social science concepts, bringing the curriculum to life for young minds.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, academically rigorous lessons in Psychology up to A-Level.
Prepare Key Stage 5 students effectively for their linear A-Level examinations, focusing on exam technique and critical analysis.
Utilize data-driven assessments to track student progress and implement targeted interventions where necessary.
Foster an analytical and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and academic discussion.
Contribute to the wider Social Sciences department, collaborating on resources and curriculum development.
Requirements
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification. A strong degree in Psychology or a related social science discipline is essential.
Experience: Proven experience teaching Psychology at Key Stage 5 (A-Level). Experience with GCSE or Key Stage 4 Social Sciences is an advantage.
Skills: Deep subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and stretch high-achieving sixth-form students.
Compliance: Must hold or be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
